Plants are diverse, some have great growth and produce blooms in the spring/summer season,
others in fall/winter, and still some produce no blooms at all just leaves.
Indoor plants are of the variety that have profuse growth and blooms when day light hours are longer like the Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily), and when day light hours are shorter growth and blooms from plants like Christmas Cacti. (pictured above)
All plants have growth cycles or seasons
Plants need more water and nutrition (fertilizer) during growing seasons.
When daylight hours shorten, less water and fertilizer is required for these type plants.
For fall/winter bloomers they are entering their growth period and need to dry out between watering as they prepare to bloom. Less light still means less water.
This is a good time to check your indoor plants, note which ones bloomed and are slowing in growth and those that are growing and preparing to bloom for fall/winter.
Care for your plants according to their season.
